The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Assigns tasks to the tax team. Organizes the work, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activity, and ensures timely and accurate
  • completion of the work.
  • Provides input into the performance management process and staffing decisions.
  • Gathers, analyzes, prepares, and reviews data for more complex income tax returns in compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Prepares team reports, conducts team meetings, and provides training to subordinates.
  • Responds to internal/external inquiries from auditors, insurance companies, federal and state tax authorities, accountants, attorneys, and partners.
  • Communicates with partners and/or clients on tax issues.

Skills/Qualifications:

The successful candidate would benefit from having:

  • 3-5 years of related tax experience.
  • Background and experience in tax, local or international
  • Experience in either an accounting firm, or BPO or shared services role
  • Excellent desktop, IT and systems skills
  • At least 2 years people manager experience
  • Background in banking or financial institution
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred for all hires)
  • CPA (preferred)
  • Knowledge of one or more specific tax areas
