The Parkland School Division currently has an opening for a Teacher-Coordinator (ECS). For existing PSD Continuing Teachers, it will be a 2 year term designation. For new Teachers to PSD, 2024-2025 will be a Probationary Contract and if successful in getting a Continuing, the position will extend into the 2025-2026 school year. Once the two year term designation is complete, the existing Teacher will go back to their home school, and the new Teacher will be placed into a teaching position at another school within the Division.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 5 years of exemplary classroom experience
Effective use of time management
Excellent communication skills; both orally and in writing
Proven track record of ability to work as part of a collaborative team focused on developing effective, solution focused plans at the school and district level
Experience in facilitating professional development, coaching and/or mentorship for staff
Exemplary ability to build positive relationships
Understanding and demonstrated experience with action research and evidence based intervention strategies to support student with significant needs and best practices in Early Childhood
Evidence of commitment to ongoing professional learning such as PD, grad studies, etc
Models strong self-care practices and works to maintain a balanced lifestyle

Working Conditions
Teachers work indoors except when supervising children outdoors or going on field trips.
Teachers may have a holiday schedule including a long summer break as well as winter and spring breaks. However, they typically work over ten-months and are paid out over twelve months.
The scheduled hours to be worked will be determined by each specific position.

Responsibilities:

Review assessments for eligibility (qualifications) and coding
Gather, review all necessary documentation for PUF audit submission
Provide intakes of new children to Parkland School Division’s Early Education program
Works within defined Divisional processes
Works collaboratively with other PSD departments towards the ultimate goal of Success and Well-Being
Consult with multi-disciplinary team members,Inclusive Education Leads (IELs) and Complex Needs Facilitators around delivery of specialized supports and services in Early Education and Kindergarten
Complete required division and provincial documentation, reports, and processes
Collaborate with the Division Principal of Wellness and Community Partnerships to effectively allocate resources and identify future needs
Networks with Division colleagues, school based support teams and community resources to support students and families
Nurture existing and possible future community partnerships
Contribute to and support the work of the Student Supports and Services Team
Update FB Early Childhood Services page
Collaborate with AHS SLP services around service delivery and assessments as well as screening
Coordinate and plan Parent Sessions
Coordinate collaboration with home teams
Work closely with the Early Education Complex Needs Facilitator
Manage technology for students and staff
Coordinate contracted SLP assessments for qualifications
Collaborate with the Division Principal over class lists
Attend CLC meetings
Coordinate therapy staff for Learning Team Conferences
Coordinate Team Meetings
Support occasionally in classrooms when absences cannot be filled
Other duties as assigned by the Division Principal
