Description:

TEACHER – MATHEMATICS

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Deliver holistic education by adopting a student-centric approach to enhance students’ academic, behavioral, and social development.
  • Identify and design support structures/strategies/resources and providing support that meets students’ learning needs.
  • Design and develop lesson packages to support teaching and learning.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of teaching support provided for students regularly and recommend improvements to enhance students’ learning.
  • Conduct and facilitate character and citizenship education as a Form/Co-Form Teacher and provide effective pastoral care and guidance to students, including working closely with parents/guardians, school counsellors and/or relevant organizations.
  • Plan and conduct co-curricular activities in support of students’ character and leadership development.
  • Undertake department duties e.g. planning and conducting programs and events, procurement of resources, monitoring and maintaining department inventories and facilities.
  • Undertake other duties and responsibilities as advised by the Reporting Officer, Head of Department and/or School Management.

Requirements:

Basic

  • Possess a Degree in Engineering or Mathematics.
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience.
  • Have passion for working with students.
  • Proven experience in being effective in teaching and developing students of similar profiles as those at NorthLight School.
  • Good team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Advantageous

  • Teaching qualification from National Institute of Education (NIE) or an equivalent institution.
  • Teaching experience in school environment.
  • Relevant experience such as training and teaching of students with special educational needs.
