YMCA Vocational Schools, part of The YMCA Brisbane, provide adjusted education programs and vocational training to secondary students, who would benefit from an alternative learning environment. Students participate in programs dedicated to enhancing practical and personal skills, at a pace that encourages school attendance, engagement and confidence.

• A relevant Bachelor’s degree with Current Queensland Teacher Registration
• First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain them
• National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one
• Demonstrated experience as a Secondary Teacher
• Create and deliver lessons in accordance with the guidelines and parameters provided by the Head of Curriculum’s Wellbeing Framework
• Produce and distribute student academic and wellbeing reports prior to the conclusion
• Respond to the needs of students, their parent(s) and/or carer(s) and wider community to ensure the quality of service meets agreed standards
• Ensuring the program is consistency with the relevant syllabi, curriculum policies and vocational objectives.
• To communicate effectively with students, including the use of appropriate interpersonal skills
• Plan and apply appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive learning environmen
