A remarkable Teaching Assistant is urgently required for a permanent contract starting ASAP at a SEN school located local to you. This is a full time contract with a brilliant salary incredible development opportunities and the chance to make a difference to the lives and education of learners aged between 5 and 19 who have a range of learning difficulties and complex needs. If making a difference to learners who can and will go on to fully independent living sounds like the next step in your career then this is the role for you! In this role your provide Classroom support and help in a range of other exciting activities from adventure walks to horse riding. This setting is a part residential school that currently educates over 100 learners. This setting is Ofsted outstanding and is commended for always expanding on the learners experiences.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing teaching assistance to the teacher defined according to weekly/daily/seasonal planning of the teacher
  • Working 1:1 with students
  • Providing group and/or individual activities, planned by the teacher
  • Working individually with learners/students to develop work.
  • Supporting the general well being of learners within the structure of the school
  • Monitoring and evaluate students learning under the guidance of the teacher
  • Assisting teachers in the use of relevant management strategies to ensure a purposeful environment for teaching and learning to take place
  • Supporting all learners in their planned structured work in all curriculum areas

Key skills and experience needed:

  • The ability to work with learners that have various SEN needs
  • A willingness to learn and build relationships with learners
  • Confidence to support the lead in groups, in different educational subjects
  • Experience working in SEND settings is desirable but not essential
  • GSCE Maths and English
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
