This posting is for one unionized contractual appointment. A Teaching Assistant is a Graduate Student employed to assist the Course Supervisor as a Teaching Assistant in a classroom environment. Teaching Assistant Positions are governed by the Collective Agreement between McGill University and the Association of Graduate Students Employed at McGill (AGSEM)

Position Summary:

This requisition is for (1) position, in the Department of Integrated Studies in Education.

  • Course dates are August 28, 2024 to November 8, 2024.
  • Effective dates of appointment are August 26, 2024 to November 22, 2024.

Qualifications:

  • Applicant should be at the master’s or PhD level in Philosophy or Education
  • A high level of English is necessary for grading assignments and papers; French is a helpful asset, but is not necessary
  • Familiarity with myCourses is an asset, or at least willingness to learn how to use the platform
  • Candidate should be able to attend the class, which takes place Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:35pm-2:25pm, particularly earlier in the semester

As per collective agreement 2.11 A teaching assistant is a Graduate student at the Master’s or Doctoral level employed to assist a Course Supervisor as a Teaching Assistant or Demonstrator.
