Description:
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Master’s degree in an appropriate subject or Honours Degree with appropriate professional qualification and/or membership
- A teaching qualification or acceptance of the requirement to acquire one if not already held.
- PhD or active membership of an appropriate professional body would be advantageous.
Responsibilities:
As a Teaching Fellow in Aviation Management, you will undertake teaching and course co-ordination, supporting the development and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs and other core activities ensuring students have an effective learning experience.
Based within the School of Future Transport Engineering you will work closely with other academic colleagues to enrich the student learning and teaching experience to ensure, as appropriate, relevant aspects of research, enterprise and professional context are embedded in modules and courses.
Duties include:
- Teach on modules and courses at HE levels 4-7 in relevant academic subject areas including curation, adaptation and creation of module teaching materials, delivering a variety of types of students learning sessions and supporting students as appropriate through informal and formal communication throughout teaching semesters.
- Undertake module leadership or other curriculum leadership roles as appropriate, preparing and administering assessments and managing the module delivery team under the direction of the Course Director.
- Undertake the role of academic tutor, conduct officer, support tutor, placement or dissertation supervisor as appropriate.
- Engage in scholarly activity to ensure you remain current with developments in your subject area.
- Provide support for course recruitment activities and other appropriate promotional or marketing activities.
