Purpose:
As the Calgary Facility Engineering Montney Team Lead you will be responsible for the development and leadership of the Facilities Engineering team in Calgary. You will provide support to the team for the execution of project management and engineering of various oil / gas related projects in the Alberta Montney region. You will play an important part in ensuring that those projects meet or exceed the expectations of all stakeholders involved.
Main Responsibilities & Activities:
- Direct supervision and leadership of a team comprised of Facilities Engineers, Technologists, Technicians and EITs.
- Take a leadership role in performance management and establishing goals aligned with interdepartmental and corporate priorities.
- Drive continuous improvement ideas for the team and area through various initiatives.
- Maintain and provide a current understanding of industry best practices and technology trends to team members and business partners.
- Assist in the Generation and management of engineering and construction projects in both brownfield and greenfield environments from inception through startup
- Work closely with Calgary based engineers in multiple groups, field-based development teams and third party engineering firms in the project scoping, design and management of various gas and oil field related facilities
- Create, track and communicate facility project estimates, budgets and schedules
- Involved in the yearly budgeting process for upcoming projects
- Provide technical engineering support by implementing best engineering practices
- Mentor and supervise as required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or nationally accredited 2 year Engineering Technology diploma
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience is required
- Experience in the Canadian upstream oil and gas industry including capital project planning and execution
- Experience in design and construction of wellsite and production facilities for processing high pressure liquids rich gas
- Experience in leading multi-discipline activities
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in: Microsoft Office applications, Accumap, SiteView, AFE Navigator
- Must be completely conversant and current with all regulatory requirements in each jurisdiction
- Experience of working with best operating practices would be an asset
- Strong technical skills with the ability to work at both the field and corporate level
- Ability to make sound analytical and technical decisions while managing multiple projects
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
