THE ROLE AND THE TEAM

The Creative Direction team is part of the Design Marketing Content (DMC) Department of Zalando. Our mandate is to build reputation by bringing a new creative POV, elevate quality, and ensure consistency and on-brand execution across all Zalando touchpoints and have a strong creative impact. Our goal: to ensure a consistent brand image and elevate our customers with a qualitative, entertaining and appealing impression of our brand and products. We want customers to have an emotional connection to the Zalando brand – in other words, to have an excellent shopping experience.
As the team lead of the Global Creative Direction you will be leading the creative team to execute on brand global and local campaigns with external agencies. The range of projects varies in scale and type e.g. brand guidelines, visual directions, social first / digital formats, social media activations and the full support of 360° campaigns including owned, bought and earned media, working across 27+ Zalando markets.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • You understand the Zalando vision as well as the needs of our Stakeholders and make them work together to create outstanding creatives in alignment with the Head of Creative Direction, VP and the Marketing leads..
  • Leading and developing the Global Creative Direction team of Art Directors and a Copywriter by giving clear direction.
  • Working with the Campaign, Proposition and Social Media & Consumer PR teams and ensuring creative excellence when collaborating with external creative agencies and creatives.
  • Developing the team’s knowledge and skills and being the Go To Person for all creative requests within Zalando Marketing.
  • Proactively identifying, prioritising and allocating resources and implementing new creative ways to excite consumers about the Zalando brand.
  • Working with the research, strategy and project managers to lead and drive creative brand topics, e.g. guidelines, activations, talent cooperations, partnerships
  • Lead and steer creative processes to inspire collaborative ideation and innovation across the Art directors and copywriters.
  • Maximising Zalando group relationships by working closely with the other creatives from zStudios, Statement, Design and Product teams.
