Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Physiotherapist to join the Surgery Therapy Team on a 12-month fixed term contract to cover a maternity leave. The post holder will be jointly responsible for leading the Surgery Therapy Team, working alongside the Clinical Lead.
The successful candidate will be expected to carry a varied and complex caseload whilst also supporting the other therapists across multiple surgical specialties and the Prehabilitation pathway. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Physiotherapist with proven respiratory skills, who can provide effective therapy input and demonstrate high level leadership and communication skills. Applicants will need experience of working at Band 6 level within the NHS setting and a wide range of core physio specialties.

To be responsible for the assessment and management of patients within the specialty.
To provide expert advice to the multidisciplinary team and work closely with community services and partner agencies in order to facilitate discharge and transfer of care.
To be responsible for providing clinical leadership to the therapy team, including carrying out staff appraisals, service development work and audit projects.
To focus on developing and promoting the roles of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists within the speciality, as well as developing and promoting protocols and standards for the care of patients.
To be responsible for daily operational activities and planning, evaluation and development of the team in conjunction with the Clinical Leads and Head of Therapies.
The post holder is responsible for induction, training and supervision of rotational staff, students and support workers within the Team.
To work with the Clinical Leads and Head of Therapies to implement department, directorate and trust objectives.
To provide cover within the therapy department during periods of staff absence.
To participate in 7-day services rota or Respiratory Emergency On-Call Service as required.
