Responsibilities:

What you bring to the team:

  • You bring 4+ years of direct experience working with marginalized, high-risk, and vulnerable people.
  • You possess post-secondary education in social work, or related human services field.
  • You have progressive leadership experience and an understanding of how to motivate and support front-line staff.
  • You have knowledge and experience working with Housing First standards of practice.
  • You bring a broad knowledge base on issues of homelessness, harm reduction, sexual exploitation, mental health, addictions, trauma and abuse, Indigenous awareness, and cultural and gender diversity.
  • You are able to direct individuals to different community resources relating to physical health, mental health, addiction, child and family support, legal supports, cultural supports, income support, and housing options.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and report on outcome-based programs.
  • You are confident navigating the different computer applications and social media channels.
  • You have the ability to travel to different locations and transport persons served as required using a personal vehicle.

Important work you will do at e4c:

  • Support RRH programming through training, consultation, supervision and collaboration.
  • Consult and support in day-to-day case management.
  • Review incoming referrals and assign to Follow-Up Support and Housing Outreach Worker caseloads.
  • Ensure the successful transfer of housing referrals from outside agencies housing teams.
  • Coordinate access to safe and appropriate housing for persons served.
  • Provide landlord relation support with team members and persons served.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, service providers, community agencies and landlords.
  • Ensure RRH compliance, accuracy, completeness and confidentiality of person served information.
  • Provide guidance in exceptional costs and critical incidents.
  • Work with the Director of Housing to build strong teams by participating in the hiring, training, coaching and supporting of staff professional development.
  • Research community resources and government supports.
  • Attend community meetings, including Homeward Trust and Agency Leader meetings.
  • Complete timesheets, debit reconciliations and cheque requisitions as required.
  • Complete agency and program reports as required.
