Description:

We are excited to offer the opportunity to join Manchester Foundation Trust (MFT) as a Team Leader for a 12 months fixed term contract for Maternity Leave cover.
We are looking for a dynamic, innovative and highly motivated registered practitioner (Nurse or ODP) with excellent clinical knowledge in Scrub to join our team and take a leading role. You will be enthusiastic, motivated, flexible, proactive and willing to learn new skills.
In particular, you should have proven experience in working and leading a variety of surgical specialties’ on a daily basis.

The department consists of 2 theatres carrying out elective Urology and urgent Trauma cases. Plus a dedicated Endoscopy room, Recovery area and Decontamination suite. All day cases are admitted to our dedicated Admission and Discharge Lounges.

AS A B6 SCRUB PRACTITIONER YOU WOULD:

Act as the Team Leader and take direct responsibility for the day to day management of a clinical area.
Act as a deputy to the Clinical Coordinator to facilitate the delivery of effective clinical practice, ensuring that all patients receive the highest possible standard of care.
Provide expert, patient focused care in the perioperative setting in accordance with Trust policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
Organize and prioritize care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team, delivering a high level of care in all areas of the perioperative setting. Facilitate effective communication between all members of the multidisciplinary team and associate departments; possess excellent skills in providing the often sensitive and highly emotive information given to patients and relatives.
Demonstrate leadership and act as a professional role model ensuring that a professional approach is maintained by all team members at all times. Address members of staff behaving inappropriately and manage any conflict arising in the absence of the Clinical Coordinator
Support and educate colleagues including student nurses and Operating Department Practitioners, medical students and junior medical colleagues. Facilitate the Annual Development and Review process for an identified group of colleagues.
