We are looking for a customer-centric and experienced team leader for our Governance Team. The team connects elected members, Council as an organisation, staff and the public, providing advisory and administrative support to enable the delivery of, and participation in, local Governance.
The Team Leader Governance Administration provides leadership and direction to the Committee Advisors/Personal Assistants, manages team resourcing requirements and workloads, and provides backup committee advisor and personal assistant support if required.
To support and work alongside the Principal Governance Advisor and provide administrative support to Elected Members.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience as an Administrator, Executive Assistant/PA at a senior level for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Proven management and leadership experience.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages, with a good aptitude for layout and presentation
  • Government experience and knowledge of Council meeting protocol, process and standing orders
  • Well-developed minute recording and dictaphone skills (shorthand an advantage)
  • A good attention to detail and an ability to proofread documents for quality.
  • Excellent communication skills and professional interaction with staff and customers at all times.
  • Able to lead and work effectively as part of a team, but without close supervision.
  • Work in a tidy and organised fashion, prioritising work and keeping affected parties informed of progress or status of work.
  • Honesty, integrity and commitment to preserving confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact with Councillors and staff at all levels within the organisation.
  • Sound judgment and initiative.
  • Current driver’s licence.

    An initial offer of remuneration will be made within the range $84,060 -$88,730 per annum.
