    Our Ophthalmic Technician team provides high-quality care to patients in the Auckland Region and offers a range of secondary and tertiary services primarily based at Greenlane Clinical Centre. We also provide services at various sites across the Auckland Region.
    We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated clinical leader to join our team at Greenlane Clinical Centre. This role will work towards continuously improving the team to ensure that timely patient access to services is achieved. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for the line management of the ophthalmic technician team with oversight of their training and development, clinical practice standards, quality and safety processes, workforce development and service delivery. You will work closely with the Allied Health Unit Manager and other team Leaders and ensures effective day-to-day operational management to the relevant teams in line with Te Toka Tumai and the Directorate’s strategy and goals.
    This is a permanent, part time role (0.6 FTE, 24 hours per week). If you are an internal candidate, this is a great opportunity to strengthen and develop your operational management skills, knowledge and experience.

As an ideal candidate,

  • You will hold a degree in Optometry or Orthoptics.
  • Ability to coach, build and maintain a high performing team with key focus on staff wellbeing.
  • Negotiation and conflict management skills with the ability to facilitate change.
  • A strong desire to provide our patients with a quality experience with the ability to empathise and work compassionately with people from various cultures
  • Quality focus which includes auditing, reports monitoring, KPIs and collaborating with stakeholders to provide a quality service.
  • Ability to work as a part of the team and build strong relationships within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong work ethic and a positive mind set with the ability to problem solve and identify opportunities for improvement
