THE KNOWLEDGE
- Performance management frameworks and methods.
- Strengths Based Approach agenda for ASC.
- Leadership and management theories and their application.
- Team building and motivational methods.
- Risk Management.
- Legislation relevant to young adults, including but not limited to adult related disability, mental health legislation and preparing for adulthood agenda.
- Knowledge of legislation and developments within relevant areas of disability, contextual Safeguarding /Mental Capacity Act and Court of Protection. Some knowledge of the SEND agenda, how this shapes priorities for preparing young people for adulthood and what this means for Adult Social Care.
THE EXPERIENCE
- Excellent working knowledge of legislative and statutory requirements, and evidence of your ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with relevant partners, including the NHS and Police.
- Experience in reflective staff supervision and practice/team development.
- Managing budgets and effective use of resources.
- Experience of working with children and young people related to preparing for adulthood.
- Managing staff sickness absence.
- Managing performance of staff and ensuring its importance is widely understood.
- Experience as a manager/supervisor within and adult social care or health setting.
THE QUALIFICATIONS
- Social Work qualification or equivalent i.e. MA or BA in Social Work, Dip SW CQSW or CSS. You must also have a current registration with Social Work England.
- Evidence of Post qualifying social work award.
- Current UK driving Licence and access to a car or means of mobility support

Responsibilities:
As the team manager, you will lead, manage, and motivate the team to provide a consistent and effective service that delivers positive outcomes for individuals, families, and carers. Your existing knowledge of the challenges young people can experience when transitioning to adulthood, particularly where they have additional needs, will enable you to play a pivotal role in developing our team priorities and managing outcomes in line with young people’s preparation for adulthood. You will take a lead role promoting strength-based practice and maintain responsibility for ensuring high quality practice, performance, recording, supervision, and appraisal across the team. As the team manager, you will implement quality assurance systems, regular case file audits and scrutiny, quality assurances of care and support plans, safeguarding processes, and other statutory documentation completed by staff. You will be familiar with Performance Management and analysis. Relevant experience of audit and inspections.
