As the Localities Team Manager, you will make a difference by ensuring that our customers receive the best possible service and support from us at a time when it is most needed. You will ensure your team is responsive, person centred, strength based and are encouraging independence.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- We require you to have a recognised and relevant professional qualification e.g. Diploma or Degree in OT and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
- You will need substantial post qualification experience in a relevant setting that must include experience of managing staff and supervision of professionals.
- You must have the ability to lead teams to achieve optimum performance in delivering social care services to users of adult care services.
- You will have well-developed interpersonal skills and able to build positive relationships, communicate, influence and negotiate with colleagues and partners.
- Due to the nature of this role, you will need to show resilience, flexibility and organisation.
- You will be willing to embrace change and consider new ways of working understanding the focus on closer working with partners.
Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.
You will be expected to travel throughout the authority and surrounding area so must have a full valid driving licence with regular access to a vehicle or have alternative appropriate means of travel.
Responsibilities:
- Day to day, you will lead a team of Occupational Therapy (OT) practitioners that work within the 3 South Gloucestershire locality teams. These teams are integrated with Social Work practitioners.
- It will be your responsibility to promote development and identify and consider approaches to address challenges within the service.
Through visible leadership and by providing management and professional supervision, you will create and maintain a highly competent and participative team working environment.
- Part of your role will be promoting professional standards in OT by ensuring that the team is person centred, strength based and occupation focused, whilst understanding their contribution to the department and the wider success of the Council.
- You will be required to jointly manage a significant budget. Monitor spending and ensure that accurate budgeting is in place and any necessary corrective action is carried out if required.
You are responsible for managing and monitoring the quality and performance of the OT services provided to ensure the effectiveness of service provision and the meeting of key performance measures.
- Working in partnership with internal and external partner organisations, you will promote and co-ordinate new initiatives which are in line with Council and government priorities, policies and guidelines.
