Description:

Technical Account Consultant (Cargo and Inland Marine)
Salary: Competitive
Do you like to develop, lead and deliver market leading risk management survey programmes for some of Aviva’s largest Marine clients and in a way that challenges the norms of insurer led Risk Engineering?
Can you deliver new initiatives, working with internal and external collaborators to support and develop the Marine proposition?
Can you effectively engage with Underwriters, our Assureds and their brokers on all aspects of risk quality and help them understand a wide range of risks and potential solutions?
The role is home based but requires you to be in the London office at least 1 day a week with occasional national and international travel.
A bit about the job:
The Cargo and Inland Marine Technical Account Consultant will play a key role in helping to develop the proposition, support Underwriters, whilst working with select key clients and colleagues to deliver tailored risk engineering solutions.
Working closely with the Technical Account Manager, you will deliver important new initiatives and projects to ensure we maintain our position as market leaders in Risk Management. Support for Underwriters and an active presence at broker meetings, new business pitches and with industry bodies is essential.
You will also support the wider proposition, completing and delivering stock throughout surveys and transit reviews with clients across the UK, with an expectation that some international work will be undertaken.
This is a high-profile role which requires the right balance of technical capability, inter-personal and organisational skills. Applicants with a Property Risk Engineering background who feel they need to develop their Marine knowledge will be considered.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Knowledge of current risk management and loss prevention practices as they relate to goods in transit and storage, including for pharmaceutical, temperature controlled, hazardous and high value goods
  • Strong technical knowledge of property fire and security systems and strategies
  • Knowledge of current trends in respect of theft and security for storage and goods in transit, and industry bodies such as TAPA
  • Ability to analyse risk information, draw out and communicate the relevant points
  • Project management experience and an ability to communicate effectively to all collaborators

Due to this being a role in scope for Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) it is a prerequisite that you are not currently bankrupt and do not have an unspent conviction for a serious criminal offence, in applying for this role you are certifying that you satisfy both of these requirements.
What you’ll get for this role:
