APS 4 - SENIOR LIBRARY OFFICER, TECHNICAL ACQUISITIONS

- Apply your knowledge/skills to work in a small team responsible for preservation of sound/audio-visual and digital archives.
The Library is seeking to fill the role of Senior Library Officer, Technical Acquisitions (APS 4) in the Collect and Acquire Section of the Collection Branch on an ongoing basis.
This role contributes to Library priorities by supporting the sound, audiovisual and digital preservation work program and acquisition of oral histories.
As the successful candidate you will undertake tasks of moderate complexity that support the operation of the National Library of Australia’s Technical Acquisitions program.
This will include:
- Transfer and quality assurance of collection material, including born digital audio files from field recorders, physical analogue and digital sound and audiovisual carriers and digital files from legacy digital data storage media;
- Preparation of consignments of carriers for preservation by external contractors;
- Collection registration and preservation reporting.
- Experience with sound recording technology and delivery systems and/or experience with data management or digital media in a cultural / heritage / archives environment.
- Qualifications or equivalent experience in Arts, Humanities or Social Sciences and/or related field.
