Description:
We have a great opportunity for a Technical Author with specialist knowledge in the Building Services Electrical area. This role is essential to the development of the technical content in the NBS specification products and platforms. This role attracts a hybrid working arrangement with two days spent with your colleagues in our award winning office right in the heart of Newcastle city centre and the remainder working from home. Alternatively this role can be fully remote within the UK.
The author will be an established construction professional who will use their industry experience and knowledge to review, research, develop and author electrical specification content and guidance for the NBS products for our UK and International customers. They will manage their content sets to ensure currency to industry standards and developments in technology as well as support the overall development of content to support the Uniclass Classification team.
They will support the integration of the manufacturer’s products from within their construction specialism, providing the ability for them to be added to specifications.
They will represent the company and their profession at standards committees, trade and professional body meetings, research events, on the company website and with wider industry published content. They will be seen by NBS as an internal specialist in their profession and the point of reference for the wider company to learn from their industry knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities:
- Contribute to marketing and business development activities, such as newsletters, websites, blogs, and NBS Events where required.
- Contribute to training and education activities, such as seminars and presentations.
- Provide technical support to subscribers, manufacturers, and internal teams.
- Represent NBS at internal and external meetings and events.
- Consult with Global specification content teams to ensure consistency in content.
