Description:

YOUR EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Bachelors, Masters), or a combination of education, experience and certification that demonstrates the needed skillset.
  • 3+ years’ experience as a technical author and/or documentation manager, preferably in robotics or a related high-tech industry, including solid understanding of typical challenges in the field.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter, handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in writing documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences.
  • Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience in a global, fast-paced environment, with an ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively, obtaining alignment and agreement on complex topics.
  • Previous experience in software development is a plus.
  • Professional certification is a plus (e.g., from the Society for Technical Communication (STC).
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken). Fluency in German is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate in Chinese, French, Italian, and/or Hindi at a business level is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Documentation creation: Research and gather information, then create, review, edit, update, and release high quality and digestible documentation for all platform components. Examples of types of documentation that will be managed by you include product manuals, user guides, developer documentation, technical specifications, datasheets, release notes, legally required safety and sales documentation, and white papers.
  • Documentation management: Implement and maintain tools and strategies for organization and management of documentation, ensuring proper storage, access, versioning, translation, archiving and distribution to various channels at the right times. Create and maintain style guides, documentation policies and procedures. Obtain appropriate internal and legal approvals for the release of documentation to end users.
  • Documentation strategy and roadmap: In coordination with stakeholders, create and maintain a documentation roadmap in alignment with company strategy and roadmap, including the evolution of how documentation is managed and distributed, as well as implementation of innovative methods and technologies for improvement of documentation, content management and distribution.
  • Coordinate documentation across functions: Collaborate with developers, engineers, product owners, process management, product management, partners, IT, marketing, customer support and designers to understand the technical aspects of Franka products, clarify technical issues, identify user roadblocks, incorporate appropriate illustrations, and ensure timely documentation delivery and exposure to the internal and external users of Franka systems.
