The opportunity

  • Newly created role to coach and mentor a team of claims specialists in liability, financial lines & cyber.
  • Reporting to the National Claims Manager for long tail claims

Your new role
You will be the technical expert for our Financial Lines & Liability Claims. You will lead & support the team on any complex matters including referrals, interpretations and development of the team.

Aspects of your role will include:

  • Identify and implement strategies to minimize Claims Cost and Leakage from the day-to-day claims management.
  • Work with the wider internal and external stakeholders to assess, respond and manage complex claims and CAT events.
  • Support team engagement and foster a positive and united team culture.
  • Identify and implement strategies to grow and develop people and enhance team performance.
  • Work with other parts of the business to enhance the Long Tail team brand and achieve better outcomes through cross-training and collaboration.

About you
Further develop your strategic thinking and leadership skills in this technical manager role.

You will:

  • Have empathy and compassion to understand what our team needs, demonstrating QBE DNA of # Inclusiveness – embodying respect, fairness and diversity of views!
  • Experience working in a commercial Insurer within liability, financial lines & cyber claims.
  • Legal qualifications preferred or a strong legal understanding and experience within insurance.
  • Experience with coaching, developing and motivating team members.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and negotiating skills.
