Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
Tennessee State University Office of Financial Aid invites applications for the position of Technical Clerk.
Main responsibilities include maintaining the financial aid document database, compiling and cataloging received documents daily. This staff member evaluates and audits documents and information to provide efficiency to paperless workflow. Primary contact for the BDMS-Banner scanning/indexing system and provides technical assistance to other financial aid staff for paperless workflow and trains staff to use imaging software. Trains and supervises federal work study students who assist with the scanning and indexing process. Additional responsibilities include printing and mailing of routine written correspondence to new students through established electronic process. Responds to internal inquiries and researches issues related to student data application information and documents received. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Staff member must adhere to the federal Title IV rules and regulations and their application in relation to the packaging of Title IV for a more effective evaluation and to ensure compliance with data retention standards in conjunction with federal regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from a standard high school or equivalent and experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in written form. Knowledge of financial aid guidelines and regulations. Must be customer-service oriented.
