We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Technical Consultant (Paper) for multinational company. This role is an exciting opportunity to utilise your expertise. You will be instrumental in supporting our sales team, resolving technical and chemical treatment issues, and making valuable recommendations to improve operational, maintenance, and chemical programs. This position offers the chance to work collaboratively across various functions, engage with a broad range of internal stakeholders, and contribute significantly to new sales opportunities.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a Technical Consultant (Paper), you will play a pivotal role in supporting our sales team by providing expert advice on technical and chemical treatment issues. Your responsibilities will include conducting assessments for monitoring treatment KPIs, providing technical analysis, make impactful recommendations on operational, maintenance and chemical programs. Your collaborative nature will be key in working with our sales team to solve customer’s technical challenges and support new sales opportunities. Additionally, you will participate in out-of-hours work or travel as required to support field technical works.

  • Supporting the sales team in resolving technical and chemical treatment issues within the SEA Market
  • Reporting on chemical program risk identification, mitigation, and escalation through best practice assessment onsite with the sales team
  • Conducting cold eye assessments for monitoring the treatment KPIs by the sales team
  • Providing sound technical analysis of chemistry, operational, mechanical (MOC) issues across Water Treatment – including cooling water, boiler water and wastewater
  • Making technical improvement recommendations on operational, maintenance and chemical program to customers
  • Working collaboratively with the sales team to solve technical challenges by customers and support new sales opportunities
  • Supporting the industrial technical consultant to conduct total plant audits to develop water recycling project opportunities
  • Participating in out of hours, standby working or travel as required to support field technical works
  • Escalating technical issues and ensuring data capture on issues that are relevant to the development of chemical program, operational, maintenance and repair plans

The ideal candidate for the Technical Consultant role will bring a wealth of experience in related field. You will have a strong background in process engineering. Your local knowledge of assets and operational performance capabilities will be crucial in supporting the timely resolution of non-routine activities. Your ability to work collaboratively across various functions and achieve set objectives will be highly valued. Additionally, your effective communication skills will enable you to engage with a broad range of internal stakeholders.

  • A minimum of 5 years of technical or industry expertise or more.
  • Understanding of paper products, applications, and offerings within the relevant industry or technical context.
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities, showcasing proficiency in conveying technical information to others.
  • At least 2 years of sales background.
  • Acknowledgment within the industry for technical proficiency, involvement in industry associations or committees, and/or substantial technical contributions to journals, conferences, or case studies.
  • Readiness and capacity for travel
