Description:
ABOUT SUNSEEKER INTERNATIONAL
Sunseeker founders dreamt of building a new kind of yacht. Breaking boundaries in early design, we’ve revolutionised the motor yacht industry since our conception in 1967. We’ve always set our sights on the top of the ladder, using our passion and drive to trailblaze with innovation and energy.
Expert minds and extraordinary attention to detail. Passed from generation to generation, these are the most valuable skills required to make our operation succeed. In an era of digital production and automated assembly, we stay committed to creating hand-built, hand-finished motoryachts, supported by Dorset’s most innovative commercial minds.
WHO ARE WE SEEKING?
Following a company-record breaking investment into New Product Development, Sunseeker is seeking an experienced Cost Control Analyst to join the team at World Headquarters, Poole.
Using their recent industry experience and knowledge, a Technical Cost Control Estimator will provide detailed estimates for a range of Sunseeker projects, including cost and work time estimates. This colleague will ensure accurate costing and budgeting of New Product Development in support of the Design and Product Management functions, supporting the full product lifecycle from a costing perspective.
Responsibilities:
- Sourcing accurate cost information and suggesting potential alternatives that meet quality, cost and delivery requirements;
- Liaising with our clients and principle contractors at design and progress meetings;
- Contributing to the strategy of the Cost Control function in conjunction with Head of Cost Control;
- Developing and nurturing strong working relationships with a range of internal departments, such as Design, Finance, Procurement, Materials Planning and Sales;
- Partnering with Design and Project management to create a cost budget for NPD, tracking the evolution of the costs from high level budget, estimate, quotation, ordered cost and actuals;
- Reviewing, diagnosing and proposing solutions to cost overruns in actual production boats once launched, alongside the Project Management and Operational Finance teams;
- Identifying cost saving opportunities through NPD costing activities, which could be rolled across existing products to leverage cost savings throughout the business;
- Providing technical expertise to the Procurement team where required for strategic purchasing and contract negotiation activities;
- Identifying and eradicating pricing issues within allocated alpha code areas, working with the BOM Controlling, Finance and Purchasing teams to increase master data accuracy;
- Supporting ‘customer special’/bespoke projects, by providing cost information to the CVF Analysts;
- Supporting the Design department in material selection to maintain credible customer offerings and upgrades, while delivering design aesthetics and a logical cost and price offering.;
- Utilise SAP, Excel or any other business systems as required to extract and analyse data in the furtherance of the role.
