YOUR REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Software Engineering or similar bachelor’s degree.
- 10 years’ experience in relevant technical roles in the application development and automation space.
- 5+ years of Python software development experience.
- Demonstrable experience with TDD, unit and integration testing.
- CI/CD pipeline experience using a mainstream open-source or commercial platform.
- Containers.
- IaC using Terraform, Ansible, Chef or similar.
- Experience deploying to/leveraging a public cloud.
- Windows and Linux skills – you probably feel most comfortable in the terminal.
- A thorough understanding of the HTTP protocol, RESTful APIs & JSON representation.
- Communication, documentation and illustration skills.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Hands-on experience in a Cloud Services, or telecommunications environment.
- Django, Flask.
- Vaults.
- PowerShell.
- Kubernetes.
- Microsoft Windows server and/or Linux system administration.
- VMware or another virtualisation platform.
- Network administration with switching, routing and firewalls or other network and security devices such as 3rd party load balancers.
- Software design and development in .NET, JAVA, JavaScript, XML.
Responsibilities:
- Works in unison with the Online Systems leadership team to mutually agree, document and execute the technical strategy, evaluating and championing new technology to support underlying business objectives, measuring and iterating along the way.
- Builds relationships with the developers in the team, driving maturity. Provides technical coaching and guidance to team members.
- Aligns the team to software development and DevSecOps best practices, thereby increasing the quality and time to deployment of our Portals and APIs.
- Contributes to codebases: features, R&D and bugfixes as required.
