Description:

We have a strong and growing pipeline of projects, including some of the most high-profile civil & transport engineering projects in the country. Want to bring ideas to life?
What’s the mahi?
As our new Associate, Bridge Engineer based in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland you’ll be a vital part of the transport team who are changing the way we design and deliver major bridge projects.

Your role will include:

  • Leading concept and detailed design packages for major New Zealand infrastructure projects across Auckland and New Zealand
  • Growing client connections and project opportunities through your extensive network
  • Exploring cutting edge technology and techniques – in particular digital engineering

As a senior member of the team, you will drive deep professional relationships with our clients as we strive to provide exceptional service and negotiate repeat work with our chosen clients. You will guide, interact, and collaborate with our multidisciplinary teams as we work with our clients to understand their objectives and vision, and work to achieve their goals and create new communities.
What are we looking for from you?
You will have a genuine passion for re-imagining engineering solutions. We value that each of our team members brings something different to Aurecon. We look for people who have had a broad range of experiences throughout their career and can demonstrate how they have worked as part of a diverse team to bring ideas to life.

With at least 12+ years of bridge design experience in a similar consultancy-based role (preferably within New Zealand), the ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • Have a detailed understanding of design requirements, standards and construction of bridges and civil structures
  • Have an established network of clients and peers
  • Ability to work with and lead multidiscipline teams to solve our clients’ problems and deliver successful project outcomes

What’s in it for me?
You really can bring your whole self to work and be confident that your voice will be heard. We don’t just claim that we’re inclusive and innovative, it’s proven by the independent awards and accreditations we have gained, and we’re always seeking new ways to prove (and improve!) our commitment to diversity.
We were the first engineering company in Aotearoa to receive the Rainbow Tick in 2018, and we have maintained this certification ever since. In May 2023 we were the first engineering company in Aotearoa to receive the Gender Tick, led by our people for our people. To date, we are the only engineering company to have both!
Our Māori strategy (He Rautaki Māori) won two Good Design awards in 2022 for its outstanding contribution in bringing Te Āo Māori and digital innovation into operations and decision-making processes.
On top of this, you will have access to competitive remuneration, a 4% employer contribution to KiwiSaver, flexible work hours and locations, working holidays, and remote work options. Outside of work, you will be further supported with benefits such as highly competitive paid parental leave, cultural holiday swaps, one of the best employee (and their family) wellbeing platforms in the country, and more!
Ready to bring ideas to life?
Then please apply now! We are an equitable-opportunity employer that values diverse perspectives and the contribution that every one of our people makes to our culture. Put simply, we want you to bring your whole self!
We know that people from historically or currently marginalised backgrounds are less likely to apply for roles where they don’t match all the advertisement criteria exactly - if this advert has piqued your interest and your experience may not align fully then we still want to hear from you and encourage you to apply. Remember, it’s your potential and how you bring ideas to life which are important.
Your background, unique needs, and individuality are valued here. We are committed to ensuring that you are well supported so that our recruitment process is fair, equitable, inclusive, and available to everyone. Please let us know what adjustments or support you need to make the recruitment process more accessible to you.
Whakahā ngā whakaaro / Breathing life into our ideas, thoughts, views
Kia māia, kia kaha, mahi tahi / Be bold, be strong, work as on
