Job Summary
This role is a unique opportunity for a dedicated individual to become a long-term, integral part of our team, working closely with our customer as a key contributor. The Technical Editor will compile, review, and revise technical manuscripts, manuals, reports, and other related materials in accordance with established guidelines. This role may involve rewriting text in coordination with the originator to improve clarity and consistency. Variable weekly hours, ranging from 0 to 20+ hours, with no guaranteed minimum.
Compensation: $50-$60/hour

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Three (3) years of experience in writing, editing, and managing technical documentation.
  • Proficiency in formatting, structuring, writing, editing, and finalizing technical instructions.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Interface with technical professionals in the writing, editing, and publication of various types of documents.
  • Proofread text for consistency in usage, style, format, punctuation, and grammatical construction.
  • Track and monitor the flow of all documents from inception to distribution of final copies.
  • Revise and rewrite text as necessary to correct and clarify meaning.
  • Interface with the originating writer and other groups as needed to obtain the required information/data to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Review drafts and correct any errors in copy preparation, such as spelling and composition.
  • Monitor all document releases within TechDoc as required.
  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
