Description:

Our client, a leader in the Education industry, is looking for a Salesforce Application Developer to join their team for an initial 18 month contract
They will be working on a new Digital Campus initiative with the goal of enhancing the student experience; by simplifying and personalizing the experience for prospects, applicants, students, learners and alumni as they access services.

SKILLS NEEDED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong experience (7+ years) designing and delivering technical aspects of Salesforce implementations, Education and Marketing Cloud, and integrating Salesforce to external systems
  • Experience with application integration strategies and protocols, including the use of iPaaS solutions such as MuleSoft and JitterBit
  • Knowledge and understanding of Salesforce solutions, release and environment management, including data and security model design
  • In-depth knowledge of Salesforce declarative tools, Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Web Components
  • Experience building a strong, collaborative team with a focus on client relationship management
  • Strong communication skills, including facilitation and presentation skills to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience working with and/or on teams that deliver technology solutions iteratively and incrementally
  • Experience working with scrum and agile methodologies in Microsoft Azure DevOps or similar environment
  • Experience in ERP systems and integrations in higher education is an asset

Responsibilities:

ROLE PROFILE:

In partnership with the Technology Product Owner and the Business Product Owner, the Technical Lead will provide the technical leadership for the implementation of the Salesforce solutions for the Enrolment and Admissions Rethinking initiative.
The Technical Lead is accountable for the end-to-end Salesforce Education Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Mulesoft technical implementation that is aligned to and in compliance with enterprise standards and industry best practices.
The technical lead will have technical risk management, release planning, and risk reporting.
Leading a team of product development technical team members, the Technical Lead will act as a bridge between vendor and client teams.
The Technical Lead will ensure that solution can be operationalized effectively to continuously deliver on goals and business outcomes.
Working with the DSX Portfolio leadership team, the Technical Lead plays a key role in identifying the technology intersection between solutions, promoting collaboration and alignment to portfolio goals, and championing technical best practices.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a team of technical professionals (developers, application engineers, consultants, UX/UI designers) to design and implement Salesforce solutions including Mulesoft API and integrations
  • Contribute technical expertise and product knowledge to the overall portfolio strategy and delivery plan
  • Collaborate with peer Technology Product Owners, Business Product Owners, and Technical leads to ensure that initiatives are delivered on time and within scope
  • Actively participate in work planning activities to progressively plan and refine work plans, ensure agreement and commitment on work, adjust as required and successfully deliver on each work cycle as planned
  • Work closely with functional leads and solution architects to provide input on overall architecture and ensure functional designs mapped to product features and functionality to support business outcomes
  • Ensure technical work products developed are appropriately aligned and integrated and meet defined functional and architectural requirements and ITS standards
  • Manage relationship with the implementation partner, and perform regular reviews on the deliverables, and ensure alignment
  • Provide strategic insights on integration points and timing considerations for incorporating new multi-cloud components into existing or new enterprise application ecosystems including ERP interfaces, automated or semi-automated jobs, access to distributed data sources, iPaaS / vendor adapters, and ITS departmental processes
  • Oversee the system configuration and documentation including technical artifacts to articulate the technical design and implementation of the solution, including required decision notes, solution design documents, data migration elements of the business solution, solution architecture documents, presentations, briefing notes, and reports
  • Identify technical risks and issues and work with the implementation team members to develop plans to mitigate and/or resolve
  • Support the technical testing of the solution across multiple environments (e.g. dev/test/prod)
  • Support change management efforts, guiding changes made to the systems and processes
  • Ensure industry practices, compliance requirements and internal policies for information privacy and security are applied in all aspects of the technical solution
  • Share and collaborate with portfolio technical leads and technology product owners on, technical best practices, and ensure alignment in the execution of portfolio-related activities
