ABOUT YOU:
You’ll be enthusiastic and passionate about doing your job, constantly curious and always seeking to improve your knowledge along with extensive Software Engineering experience in complex projects. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as there are multiple touch points across the business along with exceptionally sound logic, systems thinking, and analytical skills that are second to none.
You will also have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a Technology related subject, with at least 11 years of experience working in an enterprise level organization.
- Large-scale SOA, containerized Microservices, and implementing integration patterns including routing, transformation, and event-driven methodologies.
- Experience in team leadership (1year+)
- Great interpersonal skills for a wide spectrum of motivated tech personnel to effectively drive predictive software delivery.
- Strong working experience with SAP Meta Data Repository proxies, SAP oData services, and SAP BTP Cloud Integration interfaces with the use of SOAP, REST, and ODATA protocols that makes use of the well-known message formats like JSON and XML.
- Strong working experience with SAP development tools and techniques like ABAP, ABAP object-orientation programming, ABAP REST Application Programming, and ABAP Core Data Services (CDS).
- Extensive experience in automation testing-unit, component, integration, e2e on both SAP and non-SAP products.

Responsibilities:
As a Technical Lead – Software Development, working within the IT Shared Services Team, you’ll be in a key position to define and design how we build state-of-the-art software. You will use the latest development tools, techniques, and paradigms as well as your mentoring skills to scale what we deliver in a group of engineers.
Releasing software in time that is easy to deploy, low on memory, starts fast, scales well and almost never breaks, leading to an exceptional digital customer experience will be your key metrics of success.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Driving necessary and sufficient engineering solutions in accordance with governance standards, with the objectives of stability, scalability, maintainability and inter-operability.
- Contributing to major initiatives and business concepts during ideation and elaboration by providing estimation figures as well as feedback to high-level designs and presenting alternative approaches when they lead to better outcomes.
- Aligning design decisions with our longer-term technical roadmap by identifying and implementing evolutionary steps that lead to sustainable and maintainable solutions all the way through final delivery.
- Defining the longer-term technical roadmap of our tech stack and aligning it with industry trends and ensuring it receives support under architecture and operational governance.
- Establishing a culture of engineering excellence by implementing efficient, complete and responsive monitoring, status and health checking in all deployed solutions.
- Closing gaps between high-level designs and delivery by elaborating all the details required to start the implementation.
- Identifying technical project risks, impediments and major blockers as early as possible and focusing on their mitigation and resolution immediately together with all relevant stakeholders like Architects, DevOps, Customer Service, PM, PO, BA.
- Understanding business needs, creating software designs and developing software accompanied by automated tests.
- Performing design and code reviews
- Writing technical documentation as part of technical concepts, as-built documentation, feature and defect backlog items.
- Participating in SCRUM activities like planning, review, stand-ups and backlog grooming.
- Closely collaborating with all project and product managers relying on deliverables from the engineering team in all aspects of time and cost, quality and functionality.
- Performing application analysis, code modifications and functional testing to troubleshoot application production issues.
- Providing gap analysis with a strategic focus on addressing inadequacies.
- Providing technical leadership to a team of software engineers of various skill levels, mentoring and providing input to their performance reviews.
- Application support, including participation in the on-call roster.
