Salary: UOM 10 - $149,670 p.a. plus 17% super

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You will have excellent communication skills, adaptive leadership, and a commitment to continuous learning. You must have extensive experience in quality software development, agile methodologies, and a self-driven, open mindset.

You will also have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
  • Extensive familiarity and strong demonstration with the technologies such as Python (Django/Flask), Java, .Net, React/Angular, Javascript/JQuery/CSS/HTML, Gitlab/Bamboo, Docker, AWS and Splunk
  • Well demonstrated experience in the automation, configuration, and application performance management tools such as Ansible, VMWare, IPAM and Rancher
  • Extensive experience in building and maintaining relationships across a broad range of stakeholders

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Technical Lead in the Student Administration Systems team enhances the student experience by promoting DevOps principles, managing software design and implementation, and supporting continuous integration. The role involves guiding the software development lifecycle, improving efficiency, and overseeing change advisory processes, release management, and SAS priorities while mentoring the team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Promote DevOps principles, mentor technical specialists, and manage software delivery via CI/CD tools
  • Contribute to planning and prioritising the SAS team’s workload, ensuring alignment with key stakeholders
  • Guiding and influencing decisions that allow the University to confidently invest in systems that support studentsEnsure adherence to compliance and quality standards, manage the Change Advisory Board process, and oversee release and environment management for SAS systems
