Description:

The role
The Technical Learning Partner will help uplift the technical capabilities of people and teams within the Naval Combat Systems (NCS) group by coordinating and implementing training and other learning solutions, tailored to the NCS high-performing culture.
You will partner internally across departments to coordinate training programs, align training with business goals, and champion a culture of continuous learning. You will have the opportunity to help to deliver combat systems solutions training in partnership with our subject matter experts (SMEs) and technical leads to continually uplift the capabilities within the NCS group.
The Technical Learning Partner will work closely together with the Technical Learning Solutions Lead to help assess skills and knowledge shortages ensuring appropriate training is identified and/or designed/delivered in accordance with high quality standards, best practise and leveraging advanced technology where feasible.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Support the assessment of skills gaps within Maritime engineering teams and identify appropriate training to fill the gaps.
  • Support the design and delivery of ongoing capability training; including review and refresh of training and assessment materials across NCS training programs, ensuring appropriate consultation with SMEs.
  • Oversee the coordination of Specific Combat Systems solutions training and help facilitate learning outcomes.
  • Effectively support the management of the Maritime Training Budget
  • Manage and coordinate the delivery of the current combat systems solutions training schedule.
  • Work with the technologies and technical personnel allocated to develop, manage and deliver training, including working with both internal employees and external training vendors.

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and 9 day fortnight will be considered for this role.
About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Experience in learning and development coordination
  • Experience in delivery of training programs
  • A genuine interest and appreciation of large commercial and defence software systems.
  • Understanding of Systems and Software Engineering (not essential)
  • Knowledge of training in the Defence (and preferably Naval) environment (not essential)
  • Ability to coordinate and manage training programs

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level or have the ability to gain one.
