TECHNICAL OPERATIONS ENGINEER

    We are seeking a Technical Operations Engineer to join our team at HMP Peterborough. As a Technical Operations Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the stability and reliability of our systems and applications.
    You will work closely with develop and process changes to enhance the delivery of service to customers of the SJS, Education and Healthcare networks as well as the CCTV/alarm/Cell Call and phone systems.
    You will oversee managing all site incidents and ensuring they are all either resolved or escalated as appropriate. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving complex technical problems.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • First-rate knowledge/familiarity with MS Office and Excellent knowledge of Windows 10 is desirable.
  • You will need the ability to work individually or as part of a pro-active team.
  • You must have the attention to detail skill and the ability to prioritise workload.
  • This role is a basic entry level, you don’t need experience in a similar role as training can be provided.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be taking ownership of the PC imaging process for the site, ensuring its smooth running, and proposing and implementing any enhancements.
  • Supporting with all ICT systems in prison, including but not limited to; SJS, education and healthcare networks. CCTV, Cell Call and alarm systems and telephone system.
  • You will be ensuring all new PCs/Laptops are imaged and configured according to the documented process.
  • Managing of smaller local IT projects e.g., office moves, rollout of asset replacement PCs to agreed timescales.
  • Ensuring incidents and requests are recorded accurately within the service management system.
  • A high level of availability is maintained for all ICT services on site.
