What you’ll need
- Experience in leading an Engineering/SRE team
- Experienced Engineer able to program in Java (or a similar programming language), to a high standard
- Experience of Incident Management frameworks and evolving them
- Experienced in implementing SRE principles across an organisation, including adoption of SLI/SLO/SLAs
- Experience of AWS
- Experience of containerisation technology and orchestration platforms e.g. AWS EKS, Kubernetes
- You’re passionate about helping others and keen to roll up your sleeves and take ownership to drive company-wide impact
- Financial Services or similar regulated industry experience will be beneficia
Responsibilities:
This is a great opportunity to join GSS as it expands its operations. We seek a candidate with robust leadership abilities to enhance non-functional and operational aspects, including availability, performance, efficiency, monitoring, and incident response.
What you’ll do
Key responsibilities in this role will include (but not be limited to):
- Hands on experience with to lead/guiding a team of operations engineers
- Taking the lead on incident management, orchestrating responses to swiftly identify, mitigate, and minimize risks.
- Facilitating blameless post-mortems, instituting actionable alerts, and streamlining incident management through automation.
- Defining error budgets that help to find the right balance between innovation, risk and reliability.
- Developing, monitoring and alerting for pre-production and production environments
- Help identify repetitive non-value add tasks and be hands on in coding and scripting to automate them.
- Ensuring we have our services up and running so our clients can meet their regulatory obligations
