We are currently seeking a hands-on Technical Product Manager for Apix product development. In this position you will collaborate closely with business-oriented Head of Product and the DevOps team to ensure successful development and delivery of the product. Additionally, you will have opportunity to collaborate with the FMS Cluster level architecture team as well as other product development teams alongside various internal and external stakeholders.
Your main responsibilities in this role include leading the technical aspect of the product development process. This includes translating business requirements into technical roadmaps, technical plans, specifications, and initiatives that guide the team. You will ensure that Apix’s technology strategy is up-to-date, and team understand and live by it. You are ready to roll up your sleeves and dive in hands-on coding when necessary, demonstrating your ability to lead by example and contribute directly to the technical implementation process.
You will foster and guide the technical excellence of code and architecture. Providing technical leadership, you will be responsible for making key decisions about architectural design, technology stack and coding practices. You will perform regular code reviews to ensure quality and avoid overly complicated structures. By mentoring the team, you will select optimal solutions to complex technical challenges and ensure their effective implementation.
You are inspired of the change and drive the architectural decisions for the product considering scalability, security, performance, and maintainability. You assess technical and security risks and potential challenges in advance and developing contingency plans to mitigate risks.
Most of your team is located at our headquarters in Espoo, but we also have locations in Turku, Tampere, Oulu, Jyväskylä, and Stockholm, and we work with a flexible hybrid model.

With these skills you are one step ahead

  • Several years’ experience from working in Lead Developer or Architect role in an agile product development team.
  • Good understanding of public cloud technologies and architectural design of large systems, software life cycles, and managing technical debt.
  • Familiarity of modern development methods, tools, and technologies with hands-on experience, adapt to changes and willingness to drive innovation within the product development process.
  • Experience in relevant backend languages like Java, Python, Go, Perl, and JavaScript frameworks.
  • Experience in frontend languages and libraries like HTML, CSS, JavaScript as well as relevant frameworks like Vue.js, React and REST API.
  • Experience in relational databases (e.g. MySQL, Postgre SQL, MS SQL).
  • Understanding of container technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and test automation.
  • Experience in IaC and relevant technologies (e.g. Terraform, Ansible) and maintaining Linux systems.
  • Experience in maintaining production systems including monitoring.
  • Experience in mentoring and guiding team members to achieve technical excellence.
  • Ability to identify technical challenges, propose solutions and drive the team towards effective problem solving.

Please note, that passing the standard security clearance vetting conducted by the Finnish Security and Intelligence Service is a requirement for employment. The employer begins the security clearance process immediately, when both parties have signed this contract.
