We offer you a unique opportunity to become one of the pioneers at our battery gigafactory in Germany, offering a head-start to boost your battery career in Sweden during the initial phase of your employment with us. Through our 12-18 months Battery Excellence program you will have the chance to delve into various aspects of the battery manufacturing process in Sweden and ultimately emerge as one of the first engineers at our Heide facility.
As a dedicated Technical Project Manager you will be at the frontline of designing and integrating process technology for our Gigafactory Northvolt Drei based in Heide, Germany. By overseeing the development and installation of highly specialized battery manufacturing equipment with respect to timeline and budget, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of battery technology.
About the job :
Having intimate knowledge of project interdependencies, the delivery scope of the TPM includes requirements management, acquisition and vendor selection, contract ownership, technical reviews, validation and acceptance testing, commissioning, production hand-over as well as ensuring safety and certification approvals are met with the right quality. Your responsibilities will include effectively communicating and presenting the status of projects, identifying schedule risks, and creating contingency plans in case of any project delays. Most importantly, you will demonstrate an unwavering commitment to finding straightforward, foundational solutions for any merging efficiency and quality challenges.
Your journey involves close collaboration with global suppliers and cross-functional NV teams in Västerås, Sweden, with a minimum commitment of 12 months in the country. This includes periods of learning and skill enhancement at this location. As a crucial member of our international delivery team incubated in Sweden, you will relocate to Heide, Germany, with the installed equipment. Your role provides a unique opportunity to spearhead the deployment of the next generation of high-volume battery manufacturing equipment, overseeing its entire life cycle—from design and development, through purchase order and FAT at the supplier site, to installation, commissioning, and beyond into the start of production.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing a strategic segment of the Drei factory program across all project phases: Design, Procurement, Commissioning, and Startup of process equipment
  • Managing project teams and Northvolt partners, ensuring effective communication, technical clarity, and monitoring of schedules and costs
  • Handling interface management with Construction Team (CSA, MEP, Clean & Dry room) for equipment installation timeline
  • Planning and coordinating basic and detailed engineering design, proactively addressing issues that may impact schedule and costs
  • Monitoring and ensuring Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental performance

  • Extensive project leadership experience in dynamic industrial environments
