    We currently have an excellent opportunity for a dynamic professional to join the New Zealand Vision Care team. The Technical Sales and Product Application Specialist is responsible for the support, promotion, and in-depth education of ZEISS Vision Care products to various customer segments in the New Zealand market.
    The successful candidate will be an experienced Optometrist, Orthoptist or Optical Dispenser with associated qualifications. Ideally located in Wellington, suitable candidates from across New Zealand will also be considered.

The key responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to):

  • Support the sales team in securing new opportunities and expanding existing business by way of providing application and user training on a range of ZEISS Vision Care products.
  • Assisting the sales team to provide prospective customers with accurate product information and sensible solutions, which best address their needs. This includes but is not limited to product planning for installation and onboarding.
  • Support key account practices in reaching and maintaining their KPIs by providing product, sales, clinical, and troubleshooting support.
  • Attend and participate in internal and external conferences and training workshops as required.
  • Deliver comprehensive product and application training on a suite of ZEISS ophthalmic lenses, optical testing equipment, and optical dispensing equipment which will include installation, calibration, and basic user training of Vision Technology equipment.
  • Provide thorough and ongoing sales, product, and application training to staff across all levels of an optical practice from front-line staff to Dispensers to Optometrists.

The key skills required for this role include:

  • A minimum of 4 years experience as an Optometrist, Orthoptist, or Optical Dispenser with an associated qualification in the field.
  • A strong clinical and application knowledge of the ophthalmic/optometry discipline.
  • A strong knowledge of practice workflows, patient management and optical practice business management.
  • An excellent ability to teach and translate clinical & dispensing knowledge to customers.
  • An aptitude to manage complex situations, be agile and show flexibility whilst managing multiple tasks.
  • Literacy in CRM software (e.g. Salesforce) advantageous and MS Office suite is essential.
  • Be able to adjust your approach to suit customer experience and knowledge to achieve desired outcome.
  • Ability to work within a team environment, while delivering training & application support independently to the highest standards.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Be prepared to travel extensively within NZ, including travel within Australia and other occasional international travel.
