Job Title: Technical Sales Engineer
Division: Dawson Downie Lamont
Hours of Work: Full-time: 37 hours Day Shift (some flexibility required)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Sales Engineer to join our team and learn new skills and experience whilst enhancing those already attained. The role demands accuracy, diligence, resilience and would suit a self-motivated individual.
Dawson Downie Lamont design and manufacture Reciprocating Pumps in accordance with API 674 Hydraulic Institute Standard for oil & gas, petrochemical and marine industries worldwide.
The company itself is over 100 years old and are also one of only a few companies worldwide that specialize in the manufacture of Direct Acting Steam / Gas Driven Reciprocating Pumps. We are very proud of who we are and our reputation worldwide.
You must have a current Driving Licence and Passport documents in relation to within the UK and Overseas Visit aspects of this job role.
You will be required to apply for specific immigration Visas etc. as applicable in relation to various Overseas visits.

Responsibilities:

OUTLINE OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct involvement in all aspects of Pre, Post and Point of Sale requirements / activities for the Portfolio of DDP Pumps and Spares Products & Services to Existing & Potential Customers / Agents / Partners Worldwide.
  • Working within existing Sales department / DDL procedures to satisfy requirements worldwide. Including Region, Customer, Potential Customer, Partner and Contact visits worldwide.
  • Produce all Sales related quotation documents and proposals to best sell DDL equipment to satisfy Customer / Potential Customers requirements worldwide.
  • Direct involvement and implementation of all aspects associated with the DDL Sales & Marketing strategy worldwide including, but not limited to Exhibitions, Visitations, Sales schematic development and use, Animation development and use, Video and Photograph development and use, Social media Development and use.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare quotation / proposal documents from initial enquiry through to final submission by interpreting requirements from Customer drawings / procedures and overall supplied project information.
  • Working to outline sales requirements & delivery dates from DDL Master Output Schedule.
  • Communicate with Customers and Potential customers worldwide via telephone, email, social media, visits and exhibitions on the Technical Sales aspects of DDL portfolio and Services. Contribute to and Develop best possible customer / potential customer / Agent / Distributor / Partner relations and opportunities for sales worldwide.
  • Working with Design department to prepare Sales Department Schematics / Animations / Toolpaths for Customer enquiries and for Sales and Marketing strategy worldwide.
  • Working with Design department to initiate sales drawing requirements by specific project or application to best sell DDL product portfolio
  • Working with Production Design department to develop point of sale / post sales / after sales / repair literatures and proposals by project or application to best service DDL product portfolio worldwide.
  • To visit and train DDL Agents / Distributors / Partners worldwide in all aspects associated with the sales and aftersales of the DDL product portfolio.
  • Be proficient in the use of office based / remote based (via laptop) Microsoft Office package including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.
  • Develop investigative knowledge of Visual Manufacturing system to sales related issues and requirements.
  • Contribute / Assist with detail and overall costing of existing and future product portfolio.
  • Prepare Itinerary / Meetings etc. and book Travel / Accommodation etc. in relation to Pre and Post Sales Visits worldwide to best economy in line with Company business travel policy.
  • To be involved with Selection and Operation of DDL worldwide Agent / Distribution Machine Tool Builders / Partners and Contacts worldwide to best sell / service DDL portfolio.
  • To understand and apply applicable Currencies / Currency conversions / DAP Delivery terms / Duties and Taxes as applicable to Sales Regions and Customers in line with DDL Sales department strategy.
