Our automotive client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Technical Service Manager to join their dynamic team in Dublin. Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
As a Technical Service Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our client’s fleet. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve processing telephone enquiries, authorising repairs, organising logistics for tests, communicating with vehicle manufacturers, resolving quality issues and achieving set targets. You will also be required to work on a rotational basis to ensure coverage during operational hours. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong decision-making abilities and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Efficiently process high volumes of telephone enquiries and authorise repairs within agreed guidelines.
- Organise logistics around test requirements and ensure vehicle downtime is kept to an absolute minimum.
- Communicate effectively with vehicle manufacturers and liaise with their representatives on issues determined by after-sales policy.
- Resolve quality issues as directed by line manager and ensure all complaints are dealt with adhering to the correct policy.
- Achieve team goals and individual targets as outlined by line manager.
- Work on a rotational basis to cover the department’s hours of operation.
The ideal candidate for the Technical Service Manager role brings a wealth of experience in technical service management or advisory roles within dealerships or vehicle manufacturing. You possess excellent numeracy and literacy skills along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Systems and other relevant software. Your pragmatic decision-making abilities, coupled with your strong technical knowledge, make you an asset in resolving issues and ensuring customer satisfaction. Your experience in a corporate office environment and your ability to communicate effectively with both suppliers and customers will be key to your success in this role.
- Technician Qualification (Motor Mechanics) or experience within an authoritative position as Service Manager/Advisor at a dealership/vehicle manufacturer is essential.
- Experience working in a corporate office environment and dealing with customers is advantageous.
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills are required.
- Computer literate with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Systems (i.e. Word, Excel), Lotus Notes and garage systems desirable.
- Pragmatic decision-maker with good technical knowledge.
- High customer satisfaction drive, comfortable negotiating and talking to repairing garages and internally to resolve issues to mutual satisfaction
