Job Title: Technical Services Engineer – Airframe Systems

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Technical Services Engineer team at Flair plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the airline’s fleet. This integrated team includes specialists in reliability, structures, airframe systems, electronic systems, powerplant systems, and maintenance programs. Responsibilities range from expediting aircraft return to service, supporting continuous improvement, and maintaining structural health to overseeing program compliance and developing maintenance procedures. Collectively, the team works to optimize fleet performance and safety under the guidance of the Technical Services Manager or designate
The Technical Services Engineer – Airframe Systems is responsible for providing program compliance, modification status, and technical support for Flair’s fleet to expedite the return to service of aircraft. The Technical Services Engineer – Airframe Systems is also responsible for supporting the Technical Services Manager’s daily activities and performing their role during their absence.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical) preferred
  • Hold a valid Transport Canada AME M, E, or S license
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of six (6) years of Aircraft Maintenance Engineer experience is preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Boeing aircraft experience preferred
  • Boeing 737 NG and/or MAX endorsement considered an asset
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian Air Regulations (CARs)
  • Knowledgeable on computer-based maintenance software, AMOS is considered an asset
  • Intermediate level of proficiency using Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and and data entry

  • Requirements:
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening test
  • Clear criminal record check and satisfactory employment references
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction

Responsibilities:

  • Assess Airworthiness Directives and other mandatory publications issued by the authorities, Service Bulletins, Service Letters, and other technical publications
  • Develop Engineering Orders for incorporation of Service Bulletins and other related publications to facilitate proper planning and implementation
  • Liaise with OEM and vendors on in-service issues, product enhancement, and defect troubleshooting
  • Conduct research and studies on new developments based on the in-service experience of aircraft systems and determine their technical and economic practicability
  • Provide on-site/off-site technical assistance to line maintenance on problems encountered in which resources have been exhausted, or not covered in manuals or repair procedures, to facilitate execution of activities and early dispatch of the aircraft during real-time AOG cases
  • Manage aircraft retrofit campaigns and special projects
  • Closely coordinate with planning and materials departments ensuring all necessary materials, facilities, personnel, and tools are available prior to scheduling the project
  • Conduct technical analysis and recommend improvements to optimize systems reliability
  • Perform routine engineering functions in AMOS System, such as creating and updating Maintenance Task Cards
  • Participate in maintenance status and planning meetings
  • Support implementation. testing and continuous improvement of in-house engineering projects
  • Actively participate in Flair’s SMS program
  • Perform the Technical Services Manager role during their absenc
