Position Summary:
Under the direction of the head coach Martlet Rugby, the technical specialist will be expected to assist the head coach in the implementation of performance and development initiatives as well as with other related tasks that will help ensure the success of the rugby student-athletes.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain and distribute on-field team equipment
- Prepare practice and training equipment ahead of start times
- Record activities and keep track of statistics during competitions and performances.
- Assist with recruitment of prospective student-athlete rugby players
- Adhere to the adminstrative rules, regulations and policies of the university and the league (RSEQ & U SPORTS) regulations
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, evaluation and planning skills
- Strong desire and dedication to the development of the student athletes
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekend
- Level II NCCP certification or equivalent required
- Prior coaching experience at an elite/competitive level a strong asset
Note: Working hours will depend on the time and resources needed during different parts of the season
Must successfully pass background check.
