Description:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical/Maritime qualifications, preferably with seagoing experience on bulk carriers as Chief or second Engineer / Master OR degree in naval architecture or marine engineering with relevant office experience handling Dry bulk vessels (with cranes) .
- Good command of oral and written English.
- Standard computer knowledge.
- Environmental focused
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills in order to develop close relationships with shipboard staff, vessel technical managers, operation managers as well as internal and external support functions.
- Candidate should have good knowledge of PMS and SMS system.
- Knowledge of Chinese language is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- The Assistant Technical Supt is responsible for the safe, efficient and environment-conscious operation of the vessels assigned.
- To ensure vessel/s comply with all relevant rules & regulations with special emphasis on the ISM code, as well as flag state, port state and the industry’s special requirements and regulations, and render support to ships as appropriate.
- During the absence of line manager Manager, Monitors and follows up with Important matters and update the immediate reporting line manager.
- Give support on matters related to technical operations as required.
- Keep technical statistics.
- Attend to additional duties as decided during the annual employee dialogue.
- Analyse and respond to Undesired Events.
- Give support to his assigned vessels in preparing for Internal/ External Audits and PSC inspections.
- Visits the vessel to get hands-on feel of vessel condition/ and staff onboard.
- Make reports of inspections and findings.
- Arrange Management Reviews and ensure actions decided upon are implemented.
- Monitor and follow up with technical managers for ships Technical related matters.
- Prepare and plan for ships take over and related arrangements.
- Ensure to document and follow up with weekly, monthly, quarterly reports from technical managers managing the ships assigned.
- Check and monitor technical managers budget and Actual expenditures and document the deviations.
- Verify the Non budget cost and deviations.
- Assist with ships repair and services as required and follow with technical managers.
- Monitor ships and machinery performances in terms of efficiency and PMS .
- Ensure vessels documentations and certificate are maintained for trade.
- Carry out screening of senior officers as proposed by technical managers and conduct owners’ briefings prior joining.
- Managing regular reports from vessels assigned to him/her and file them in structured approach.
- Review and follow up on routine reports from the vessel & Managers.
- Carry out regular data analysis of costs, PMS and other KPI factors in order to ascertain health of the ship as far ship management is concerned.
- Undertake any other Technical related assignments as and when required assigned by Line technical manager.
