Position Overview: As a Technical Writer at Epilog Laser, you will create clear, concise, and accurate documentation that enables our customers, partners, and internal teams to understand and use our products and services effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent writing skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Documentation Creation:
  • Develop comprehensive and user-friendly documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, release notes, and troubleshooting documentation.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and ensure the accuracy of technical content.
  • Content Maintenance:
  • Regularly update and revise existing documentation to reflect product updates, enhancements, and changes.
  • Monitor feedback from users and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement in documentation.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with Engineering, Sales, and other teams to gather information and ensure product functionality and documentation alignment.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Conduct reviews and edits to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in all written materials.
  • Perform usability testing to validate the effectiveness of documentation.
  • Documentation Standards:
  • Establish and maintain documentation standards, style guides, and best practices.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure documentation remains relevant.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Technical Writing, English, Computer Science, etc.) Or four years’ experience as a technical Writer.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer in a technical or software development environment.
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to translate complex information into clear and concise documentation.
  • Proficiency in documentation tools and software (e.g., Adobe FrameMaker, MS365, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Experience with Knowledge bases, content management systems, and online publishing
  • Proficiency with MS Office required, Corel, AutoCAD, and Illustrator experience a plus.
  • Proficiency with Epilog Software, Firmware, and Support Tools
