Description:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required.
- Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with technical writing skills with proper English grammar.
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat or similar tool.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with Factory, Managers, Engineering, and Customers.
- Experience with Common Manufacturing Enterprise System (CMES) factory operating system.
- Certified Assembly Instruction Originator.
- SAP (PRISM) experience.
- Proficient in creating and releasing documents in cPDM.
- Proficient in html and/or DreamWeaver.
- Microsoft SharePoint administration experience.
- Proficient in CSS.
- Experience with Printed Wiring Board (PWB) or circuit card assembly; including surface mount technology (SMT), component underfill, conformal coating, staking, and solvent cleaning processes.
- Certified in J-STD-001, Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies.
- Experience with automated, semi-automated, and manual assembly and integration.
- Knowledge of depot and sustainment activities for defense-related hardware, specifically electronics.

The Mechanical Engineering department leads in the mechanical hardware design, development, and production of weapons systems. We use state-of-the-art tools, processes, and technology, with capabilities encompassing a broad range of technical disciplines, including product engineering, manufacturing, technical services, materials engineering, analysis and test, rapid hardware development/builds and configuration and data management documentation.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Support Engineer II – TMIT & RFSI Materials and Process Engineering to join our team.
THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT THE MCKINNEY, TX FACILITY – HYBRID ROLE.
As the Technical Support Engineer II, you will be the primary point of contact for all assembly instruction documentation for production programs, depot & sustainment efforts, as well as some developmental tasks.
In this role you will work together with Process Engineers, as well as all the various Engineering disciplines to produce electronics used in cutting edge military and Defense related hardware. Our Technical Support Engineers are also often directly involved with customers and additional internal production teams to support assembly and integration issues. This role will not only allow you to work side by side with some of our best and brightest, but also gain the experience and exposure necessary to advance your career.
RESPONSIBILITIES TO ANTICIPATE:
- Responsible for creating and releasing process documentation, including assembly instructions and production and depot routers. Performing drawing reviews and incorporating all requirements into the process documents.
- Project management (planning, collaborating, and reporting).
- Assist the production floor with daily issues; evaluate materials, equipment, and processes.
- Resolving problems preventing products from meeting customer requirements.
- Interface with various functions including Quality, Reliability, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Manufacturing, and Operations Engineering.
- Willingness to learn assembly processes and to develop a hands-on understanding of the product and equipment.
