Job Scope:
As a Technical Support Engineer for Milling & Grinding Equipment, you will be part of a highly-motivated and impactful global Upgrades and Rebuilds (U&R) team which ensures the successful offering to the global install base by implementing best practices. By joining this team, you will have the chance to work in a multinational organization and in an environment involving different cultures and different challenges.

Your responsibilities:

  • Primary contact point for technical support of the Milling & Grinding installed on our global customer sites
  • Maintain and grow the engineering database of upgrades and rebuilds in our central global engineering system
  • Work with fabricators to ensure high quality solutions are delivered on time and according to FLS specifications
  • Provide technical support to entire U&R teams; Upgrade Packages & Rebuild (GSLMs), Proposals, Audits & Studies, Exchange teams plus regional site sales and professional services teams.
  • Play a key role in preparing technical scope and assessing the feasibility of proposed solutions.
  • Responds to medium complexity technical inquiries, equipment installation, providing technical product specifications etc.
  • Identify the technical spec of supported and obsolete Milling & Grinding or components, handling technical queries from proposals, GSLMs, procurement, and Audits & Studies teams.
  • Assisting in engineering data searches across the various engineering archive platforms.
  • May require working independently with general supervision. Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex. May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices.
  • Support, U&R design engineers to develop solutions in conjunction with product engineers, with engagement in all phases of offering L2O, O2O, and O2C.
  • Actively contribute to the growth of the U&R business through a proactive focus on Rebuild and Upgrade opportunities in collaboration with region professional services, region site sales teams, and GSLMs.
  • Work closely with Product BL engineers to ensure that U&R engineering solution are in line with the next generation of products and mission zero objectives.
  • Generate monthly reports for the U&R engineering manager, highlighting successes, identifying bottlenecks, and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Promotes a culture of personal and team safety, including others who may be affected by the company’s operational activities.

What you bring:

  • Product knowledge of Milling & Grinding (Horizontal Mill and High Pressure Grinding Roll)
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and test reports.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing) preferred.
  • Engineering certification would be an added advantage
  • Experience specifically with Milling & Grinding Equipment.
  • Relevant experience in engineering software and tools like SolidWorks (Intermediate level), AutoCAD, PLM tools (Enovia) would be advantageous.
  • Good communication skills and attitude.
