Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

The Technical Team Leader of Information Technology is a highly technical role that mixes strong leadership skills with technical know-how to deliver IT capabilities across New England Seafood’s offices and factories. Reporting to the Head of Technology at Sealaska, the Technical Team Leader of IT provides oversight to the regional IT team and ensures successful implementation and support of the strategic IT roadmap.
Most importantly, the Technical Team Leader is willing to do the right things to get the job done well, whether that means rolling up his/her sleeves and assisting with the implementation of a project, solving an urgent issue, or helping to remove barriers to ensure team success. The Technical Team Leader of IT acts as the change agent responsible for ushering in updated processes and procedures to the New England Seafood technology landscape.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written; able to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Able to recruit, hire, develop and motivate a high performing IT team.
  • Exceptional business acumen, analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Embrace Change. Experience leading complex, major change initiatives; demonstrated skills in change management.
  • Familiarity with modern cybersecurity postures, tooling, and controls
  • Technical strength in the areas of Microsoft Windows, AWS, and Azure
  • Knowledge of and experience with a range of vendor technology solutions; able to integrate the most appropriate technologies to support the business.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, with the ability to set, prioritize and manage competing priorities in a fast paced, complex, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A university degree in a related discipline is required.
  • 10 years of career experience in technology, including 5 years in a leadership position.

Responsibilities:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in recruiting, interviewing and training of staff.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business groups and leaders across the company to facilitate a deep understanding of issues, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Execute an IT vision and strategic roadmap in partnership with key business stakeholders and Sealaska IT.
  • Ensure business leaders can easily access usable and relevant information for decision-making.
  • Leverage existing technology throughout the organization where possible and appropriate.
  • Identify and prioritize IT projects to achieve strategic goals and deliver high quality cost-effectively.
  • Hire, develop, evaluate, reward, and retain a highly qualified team of IT professionals.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, transparency, accountability, and internal customer service.
  • Establish metrics for managing effectiveness and measuring the impact of IT on the business.
  • Implement a comprehensive enterprise information security program, in accordance with Sealaska established methods, to ensure the security, integrity, confidentiality, and availability of data.
  • Enforce IT standards, policies, processes, portfolio management, development standards and methodologies where it makes sense.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
