You will work collaboratively with our team and independently manage training initiatives across various program locations including southwestern, eastern and central Ontario.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certification or post secondary education in adult education, human resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Extensive experience in the Landscape and Horticulture industry
  • Previous experience with training, coaching, and/or curriculum development.
  • Ability to think creatively, solve problems, and take initiative!
  • Experience with facility management and/or venue booking.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to travel to various program locations as needed.
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with applicants, program participants, and staff.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail oriented and demonstrated a strong work ethic.
  • An understanding of the landscape horticulture trades is preferred.
  • Experience in organizing and hosting virtual meetings and events.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to a high level of customer service.
  • Ability to prioritize and follow through effectively.
  • Technical savvy with software tools & proficiency in Google Workspace.
  • Demonstrated coaching skills.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

You will coordinate and oversee the technical training operations of our GROW New Entrant Training program. Coordinating the schedules of instructors and courses, you will ensure that the program is delivered according to curriculum outline and adheres to health and safety standards. Working collaboratively with our team and independently, you will manage training initiatives across various program locations, including southwestern, eastern and central Ontario.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Cohort Organization and Management:
  • • Organise and manage training cohorts in various program focus areas, ensuring the smooth delivery of training sessions.
  • Coordinate with program coordinators to schedule training sessions and align with participant needs and availability.
  • Collaborate with educational institutions and/or non profit organisations to develop customised training curriculums and deliver training sessions.
  • Participant Success & Coaching::
  • • Provide regular updates on participant progress and success to program leadership and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with program staff to track participant attendance, participation, milestones, and achievements throughout the training program.
  • Provide coaching and support to participants throughout their training journey, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
  • Partner with participants to develop personalised development plans and strategies for success.
  • Venue Coordination:
  • • Secure suitable venues for training sessions, ensuring they meet the needs of participants and program requirements.
  • Coordinate logistics for training sessions, including room setup, equipment, and materials.
  • Teaching & Facilitation:
  • • Facilitate skills training sessions alongside participants, providing guidance, instruction, and support as needed.
  • Ensure the effective delivery of training curriculum and activities, maintaining high standards of quality and engagement.
  • Program Evaluation:
  • • Collect and manage feedback from participants, trainers, and program staff regarding training sessions and curriculum.
  • Analyze feedback to identify areas for improvement and present opportunities for curriculum enhancement.
  • Equipment and Material Management:
  • • Work closely with the Training Technician to manage program equipment and materials.
  • Ensure that training materials are prepared and available for each session, coordinating with the Training Technician as needed.
  • Industry Events and Site Visits:
  • • Participate in industry events and employer site visits to promote the program and strengthen partnerships.
  • Represent the GROW Program at industry events, networking functions, and employer visits.
