Description:

What We Need
Corpay is currently looking to hire a Technical Writer within our Product Management division. This position falls under our Corpay Cross-Border line of business and is located in Toronto, ON. In this role, you will play a crucial role in the Product team and will contribute to the development of internal and external Help guides, API documentation, FAQs, UI text, training materials, and knowledge base articles in support of all our products. As a Technical Writer, you will collaborate with engineering and product team, to gather technical information and translate it into compelling, customer-focused content. Your work will play a critical role in educating our customers, enhancing our brand, and driving the adoption of our products and solutions. You will report directly to the Manager -Techncial Content and regularly collaborate with all internal teams and stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities

Qualifications & Skills

  • Technical Writing Expertise: Proven experience in creating technical documentation for complex software products or services.
  • MadCap Flare Proficiency: Experience with MadCap Flare, a leading tool for authoring and publishing technical documentation.
  • JIRA/Confluence Knowledge: Familiarity with using JIRA for issue tracking and Confluence for collaborative documentation.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with meticulous attention to detail and grammar.
  • Independent and Team Player: Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently, yet collaborative, especially under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Agile Methodology Understanding: Familiarity with the Agile development process, which is commonly used in software development projects.
  • Source Control Familiarity: Basic understanding of source control systems, which are important for managing documentation versions.
  • Camtasia Proficiency: Experience with Camtasia for creating instructional videos or software simulations.
  • LMS Experience: Knowledge of learning management systems (LMS), which can be useful for organizing and delivering training materials

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with senior technical writers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand product features and documentation requirements.
  • Writing clear and concise user interface text, release notes, online help content, user guides, and developer guides.
  • Creating comprehensive API documentation for developer audiences.
  • Developing engaging tutorials and course content for Learning Management Systems (LMS) to enhance user learning experiences.
  • Prioritizing documentation tasks based on version release schedules and working independently to meet deadlines.
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on content created by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
  • Keeping documentation up-to-date with each minor release and bug fix, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Maintaining consistent language, style, and formatting across all documentation to ensure a professional and cohesive look.
  • Crafting clear and compelling product content for various platforms, including the knowledge base and blog sites, to inform and engage users
