Cambium Inc. is a successful consulting and engineering company built on quality people doing quality work in a rewarding environment. It’s our team that makes us unique. We are currently seeking an Environmental Technician to join our team in Oshawa.

  • Collection of soil samples during drilling, test pitting and excavation activities
  • Monitoring and collection of groundwater samples utilizing a wide variety of equipment
  • Experience with groundwater pump and treatment systems
  • Supervision of drillers and other contractors
  • Operation of various types of field monitoring equipment (e.g. hand augers, handheld XRF, GPS, data loggers, survey level, combustible gas meters, etc.)
  • Completion of field documentation such as project field reports, field notes, borehole logs, and laboratory chain-of-custody forms
  • Assists with report writing and ensures their work is completed with accuracy and precision
  • Generally works under the supervision of senior staff, project coordinators/managers
  • Committed to health and safety procedures and practice
  • As required, contributes towards project completion in a technical capacity
  • Equipment calibration, maintenance, and repair
  • Provide technical support and mentor junior field staff, as required
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriateTravel and shiftwork may be required in all seasons and weather conditions

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree or College diploma in a related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience, preferably in a consulting environment
  • Outstanding organizational and communication abilities
  • Superior technical skills and attention to detail
  • Experience analyzing environmental sample data and reporting results to regulatory bodies and stakeholders
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • A valid Class 5 well license would be an asset
  • Desire to succeed in a dynamic, progressive organization
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills with fluency (reading, writing and oral) in English.
  • Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle
