Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Perform (or assist in performing) behavioral experiments in rodent models, building of needed supplies, simple computer programming, and entering/analyzing data.
- Perform (or assist in performing) rodent husbandry, surgery, pre- and post-operative care, and tissue collection.
- Perform (or assist in performing) immuno-histological and anatomical analysis of brain tissue (brain sectioning, immunohistochemistry, mounting, and bright field or confocal analysis of tissue, entering and analyzing data with respect to its anatomical and immunohistochemical characteristics).
- Perform (or assist in performing) electro-physiological recording in in-vivo rats.
- Perform (or assist in performing) intravenous surgeries or stereotaxic surgeries in rodents.
- Ensure that needed supplies and chemicals for experiments are available in a timely manner (e.g., building of intravenous catheters, preparing solutions, inventorying)
- Maintain a tidy/clean lab and animal room (e.g., weekly wiping, sweeping, and mopping)
- Collect, organize, and analyze data and report results orally and in writing
