JOB SUMMARY:

A Technician, Process in an automotive parts manufacturing company plays a crucial role in ensuring that the manufacturing processes run smoothly and efficiently.
Overall, the Technician, Process plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of manufacturing processes in an automotive parts manufacturing company. By monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing processes, they help to maintain product quality, maximize productivity, and drive continuous improvement.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Skills & Experience:
  • Manufacturing Experience: Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment is typically preferred. Candidates with experience in automotive parts manufacturing or a related industry may have an advantage.
  • Process-related Experience: Experience in process monitoring, optimization, or control is highly desirable. Candidates should have a good understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to troubleshoot process-related issues effectively.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with process instrumentation, control systems, and data analysis tools may also be beneficial.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to analyze data, identify root causes of process deviations, and implement corrective actions is critical for success as a Technician, Process.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Technicians in process roles often collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, operators, and quality assurance personnel. Candidates should have excellent teamwork and communication skills to effectively coordinate and execute process-related tasks.
  • Adaptability: The automotive manufacturing industry is dynamic and constantly evolving. Candidates should be adaptable and willing to learn new skills, technologies, and processes to keep pace with changes in the industry.
  • Continuous Improvement Experience: Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing can be an asset.

Responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your supervisor may from time to time ask you to perform other related duties not specifically included in this job description. This job’s key responsibilities include:

  • Process Monitoring: Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure they are running according to established parameters and quality standards. This may involve using various tools and equipment to measure key process variables such as temperature, pressure, cycle times and flow rates.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot issues or abnormalities in the manufacturing process. Analyze data, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to address process deviations and minimize downtime.
  • Process Optimization: Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize manufacturing processes for improved efficiency, productivity, and quality. Propose and implement process improvements, modifications, or innovations to enhance overall performance.
  • Equipment Programing: Responsible for programming based on parts and verifying color concentrates with minimum scrap output.
  • Quality Control: Work closely with quality control personnel to monitor product quality and consistency throughout the manufacturing process. Conduct inspections, perform quality checks, and address any deviations from quality standards promptly.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of process parameters, equipment settings, and production data. Generate reports, charts, and graphs to track process performance, identify trends, and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to operators and other personnel involved in the manufacturing process. Share knowledge and best practices to ensure proper execution of process-related tasks and foster continuous improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives and problem-solving activities. Contribute ideas and suggestions for process enhancements, cost reduction opportunities, and waste elimination efforts.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, operators, quality assurance personnel, and maintenance technicians. Communicate openly, share information, and work together to achieve common goals and objectives.

  • Work in compliance with ABC Standards, EHS Policies, Local, Regional and Federal acts, bylaws, and regulations.
  • Report any spills or leaks immediately.
  • Use personal protective equipment and clothing as required.
  • All Employees shall follow Site Workplace Safety Guidelines.
  • No Employee shall remove or make ineffective any protective device and must report missing or damaged protective devices.
  • No Employee shall use or operate any equipment, machine, or device in a manner that may endanger themself or another worker, including the operation of equipment, machine, or device without proper training or certifications where required.
  • No Employee shall engage in horseplay or unsafe acts.
  • Employees must immediately report any hazard(s), unsafe act/condition, near miss or incident regardless of severity to their Group Leader.
  • All Employees must maintain a drug and alcohol-free workplace in compliance with the substance abuse policy.
